It All Comes Down to This

Spurrier must win in his old stomping grounds to claim the SEC East

This year was the year.  Florida was adjusting to life A.T.  After Tebow.  Georgia was going to be down.  Tennessee is very much in transition.  The balance of power in the SEC East was shifting and it was South Carolina’s for the taking.  If all went well they should cruise all the way to the Georgia Dome the first weekend in December.

They got off to their customary strong start.  Things seemed okay despite a slip up at Auburn.  A come from ahead loss at Kentucky and a bad home loss to Arkansas have brought back the same of feelings of anxiety in Columbia.  The cushion is gone, and they have the exact same record as the Gators heading into this game.

The nostalgia has rubbed off long ago.  Spurrier is 1-4 against the Gators as South Carolina head coach.  They should have come into this game with at least a one game lead.  The pressure, as well as the Gamecocks history of end of the year collapses makes tomorrow’s game a tall task.  I’m gonna take Florida 24-21.  The agony continues for the Gamecocks.

Agree, disagree, agree to disagree.  It doesn’t matter.  Feel free to scroll down and post a comment.
