Failure to Liftoff

It's been a tough go for Martin and the Rockets

Offense wins games, defense wins championships.  This cliche’ is as old as time.  Houston has the offense to win games, but a little bit of defense is still required.  The Rockets rank 4th in the league in offense coming in at 105.4 points a game.  Sadly their defense is 28th as they allow 107.2 points per contest.  No surprise to see them sitting at 3-8 after 11 games.

Two of those wins coming courtesy of the Knicks and Timberwolves.  I know a win is a win, but should those really count?  The most shocking thing was how they held the Pacers below 100 points right after they exploded for 144 against the Nuggets in their previous game.

It’s been a tricky year for Rick Adelman.  Yao Ming was a part time player at best before he got injured.  Aaron Brooks went down with an ankle injury. Both of them are still going to be out for at least a couple weeks.  Luis Scola and Kevin Martin are having solid seasons, but its just not enough.  First it was the Cowboys, now its the Rockets.  I’m in for a long season.

Agree, disagree, agree to disagree.  It doesn’t matter.  Feel free to scroll down and leave a comment.
