Road Sour Road

Jones and Co. have been fine at Rupp, but have to learn how to bring it away from home.

Rupp Arena has been Home Sweet Home to the Cats for my entire life.  They are 454-60 all time at Rupp.  This year is no different as they are off to a 9-0 start at home.

The change occurs  on the road, which is the case for most teams, even more so for a young team like this one.  Youth and inexperience have caused some problems at Georgia, North Carolina, and Alabama, as well as UConn in a neutral court game in Maui.  The exception to the rule was the nice win at Louisville.

Today’s game at South Carolina is another test for the Cats.  They are 0-2 in their last 2 trips to Colonial Life Arena.  They were embarassed 77-59 in 2009, last year Downey and the Gamecocks handed us our first loss of the year 68-62.  Will the effort and fight they showed to claw back into the Alabama game be on display for 40 minutes or will the effects of the loss carry over into this game as well?

Columbia is as good a place to start as any.  A solid win here will go a long way to boost their confidence.  The SEC East is wide open and there are still tough division games at Florida, Vandy, and Tennessee on the schedule.

Agree, disagree, agree to disagree.  It doesn’t matter.  Feel free to scroll down and post a comment.
